Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Nesika AI, the pricing protocol, and getting started.

General

What is Nesika AI?

Nesika AI provides retail pricing data for people, applications and AI agents. Nesika Retail tracks your products against the competitors you choose, with AI product matching that works without barcodes. Nesika Commerce is a REST API and MCP server for searching products, resolving product identity and finding live retailer offers.

Who is Nesika built for?

Developers and AI agents that need product and price data, through the Commerce API and MCP server; and retailers and brands that want to monitor competitor prices, from a dashboard, from ChatGPT or Claude, or through Zapier and n8n.

What makes Nesika different from other pricing tools?

Most pricing tools match products by barcode or EAN. Nesika matches by attributes such as brand, model, size and pack, finds similar products as well as identical ones, and explains every match. The data is available in a dashboard, an API, MCP servers and AI assistants.

What is the pricing protocol?

The pricing protocol is Nesika's view that prices should be machine-readable so AI agents can find and compare them. In practice, Nesika Commerce gives agents structured product and offer data through an API and MCP server.

How long does implementation take?

There is no integration project. Sign up, add your products by name, URL, CSV or sitemap, add the competitors you want to watch, and Nesika starts scanning. Developers can make a first Commerce API call as soon as they create an API key.

Product & Features

How does product matching work without barcodes?

Nesika's AI compares product attributes such as brand, model, size, pack and variant to decide whether two listings are the same product or a similar one. Each match comes with an explanation of why it was made.

How is match accuracy verified?

You can review every match in your workspace and correct any that are wrong. Each match states why it was made, and your corrections improve future matching. Nesika does not publish a single accuracy figure, because accuracy depends on the category and catalogue.

Which countries does Nesika cover?

The Nesika Commerce API accepts any two-letter ISO country code and returns prices in local currency. Nesika Retail can track any public competitor website, in any country.

What is MAP monitoring?

MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) monitoring checks whether sellers advertise products below the price floor a brand sets. Nesika flags a violation in the first scan that sees it, with the seller, price and product link.

Can Nesika integrate with my ERP or e-commerce platform?

Nesika does not offer pre-built ERP or e-commerce connectors. You can export scan reports as CSV, call the Retail Workspace API or Commerce REST API, connect through MCP, or use the Nesika app on Zapier to send data to thousands of other apps.

How often is pricing data refreshed?

Nesika Retail scans competitors on the schedule you choose, daily by default, and you can start a manual scan at any time. The Commerce API looks up live offers each time you call it.

Pricing & Plans

How much does Nesika cost?

Nesika Commerce is free to start with 1,000 credits for new developer accounts, then credit packs from $20 for 2,000 credits, and a Scale plan for high volumes. Nesika Retail starts with a 7-day free trial, then Starter is $999 a month and Pro is $6,000 a month, with 15% off annual billing and Enterprise on request. Prices are in USD.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Nesika Retail has a 7-day free trial on Starter and Pro; a card is needed to start, and you are charged only when the trial ends. Nesika Commerce needs no trial: new developer accounts get 1,000 free credits with no credit card.

What do I pay for?

Commerce charges credits for each successful call: 3 to resolve a product, 5 to search products or find offers, and 10 for a deep search. Retail plans include a monthly number of Data Points (one product checked at one competitor in one scan): 30,000 on Starter and 200,000 on Pro, then $0.04 or $0.032 per extra Data Point.

Do failed Commerce calls cost anything?

No. Credits are charged only when a Commerce request succeeds, and checking the status of a running job is free.

Technical & API

What does the Commerce API offer?

A REST API at api.nesika.ai/api/v1 with four operations: search-products, resolve-product, find-offers and deep-search. Requests use JSON and an X-API-Key header, and write requests take an Idempotency-Key header so retries are safe.

Can I test the API before building?

Yes. The Playground lets you try Commerce requests, and the quickstart and API reference show request and response formats. The 1,000 free credits for new developer accounts cover real calls.

How do I get notified when competitor prices change?

Set alert rules in your Nesika Retail workspace, for example when a competitor's price drops below yours or a product goes out of stock. You can also create alert rules from ChatGPT or Claude. Nesika does not offer outbound webhooks.

What is the API rate limit?

The $0 and pay-as-you-go Commerce plans include standard rate limits. The Scale plan offers higher throughput and concurrency for large workloads.

Does Nesika have an MCP server?

Yes, two. The Commerce MCP server at mcp.nesika.ai/commerce gives AI agents product search, identity and live offers. The Retail Workspace MCP server at mcp.nesika.ai/workspace connects ChatGPT, Claude and other clients to your tracked products and competitors.

Security & Compliance

Does Nesika support GDPR obligations?

Nesika collects publicly available pricing data, offers a Data Processing Agreement to customers, and publishes its list of sub-processors.

Is Nesika SOC 2 certified?

Not yet. Nesika is pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification. See the security page for how we protect customer data today, or contact us for our security questionnaire.

Where is data stored?

Nesika runs on Microsoft Azure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How is my product catalogue data protected?

Your catalogue data belongs to your workspace and is never shared with other customers. Access to it requires your workspace's sign-in or API keys, and keys can be revoked at any time.

Getting Started

How do I get started with Nesika?

Sign up free. To track competitors, add your products and competitors in the dashboard or connect ChatGPT or Claude and ask it to set them up. To build with the API, create an API key in the Developer Console and follow the quickstart.

What do I need to start tracking competitors?

Your products, as names, URLs, a CSV or your store's sitemap, and the websites of the competitors you want to watch. No barcodes or product links on competitor sites are needed.

Can I try the API without a sales call?

Yes. Sign up, create an API key in the Developer Console, and call the API straight away with your 1,000 free credits. No credit card is required.
